HRCH UH Washita’s Bring em Back Boomer MH MHR

Boomer was whelped on May 17^th, 2002 and came to our home at 7 weeks of age and stayed with us until December of 2002 at which point he went into Professional training for the hunt test circuits. The trainer and breeder is Jeff Chesnut of Washita Retrievers in Rush Springs, Oklahoma.

Boomer ran his first UKC started hunt test at Big D HRC in September of 2002. He passed both days at the ripe old age of 4 months. Once in training he took to his lessons very well and was gaining confidence and skills each week. Boomer stayed on with Washita Retrievers for a full nine months, and was running AKC Master level work when he came home in September of 2003, with a UKC Started Title, AKC Junior & Senior Titles and went to the third series in the Tulsa AKC Master test in September of 2003, he was 16 months old.

Jeff Chesnut did not run many UKC Tests in those days, so we hooked up with Greg Davis of Signature Kennels in Ardmore, OK and passed our First Grand in the Spring of 2003, Boomer was 18 months old (at that time the 2^nd youngest dog to ever pass a Grand). We went to the 5^th & final series at the 2003 Fall Grand in Bowie, TX. Boomer and I continued to look for that elusive 2^nd Grand pass to qualify as a Grand Hunting Retriever Champion and to date it has eluded us, but the journey has been memorable with trips to Wisconsin, South Carolina, Louisiana (3), Texas (2), Georgia (2), South Dakota, and Tennessee, perhaps someday but for now we are content with running NAHRA and AKC primarily in the Western United States. Boomer is a member of the HRC 1000 point club earning that distinction at the BIG D HRC Test, Fairfield, TX in September of 2008.

Boomer acquired his AKC Master Hunter Title in Kansas City, Kansas in September of 2006, his NAHRA Master Hunting Retriever Title in Phoenix, AZ 2008. He qualified for the Master National 2009, and pointed out in the 6^th and final series in the 2010 Master National in Corning, CA.

Boomer has traveled from Coast to Coast, and Border to Border in his quest for Hunt Test Titles, he has hunted waterfowl in Canada, and 11 states, upland game in 6 states, and dove hunted in Mexico not bad for a big black muttonhead of a dog that will be 9 years old on May 17^th, 2011.
