Training Day
Saturday, February 6, 2010, 08:00
a.m. At the Overton Wildlife Management Area (OWMA) meet by the bird pen. Overton
WMA is located about 1.25 hours northeast of Las Vegas. The easiest way
to get there from Las Vegas is to drive north on Highway I-15 to the Logandale
exit (exit 93). Turn right onto Highway 169 and drive south through the
towns of Logandale and Overton. About .8 of a mile south of the Lost
City Museum (south end of Overton), turn left onto Wildlife Road. The
bird pen is located on the left at the end of the road. You will find a
small parking lot on the right. Hope
to see you there.
Immediately
following the training session we will "spiff up" the area in
preparation for our upcoming LVHRC annual hunt test. Volunteers welcome.
Thanks to everyone who attended the January Training
Day. The mock HRC hunt test scenarios provided a comfortable learning
environment for both the beginning and experienced handlers. Be sure to
check out the photos from the January Training Day. Click on Cooper, Kevin Rice’s yellow lab or
visit our website, select the Pictures button then Picasa Web
Albums. The January Training Day photo album is titled 2010-01-16
Training Day at Overton, NV.

2010 sponsored by the LVHRC. It proved to be very informative for our future
judges and current/future handlers. Lunch was provided by Brian Dunlevy.
Thanks Brian. We would also like to thank our regional representative,
David Cousineau, for traveling to Las Vegas and conducting the seminar.
If you didn’t meet David at the seminar you will meet him at our upcoming Hunt
