March Training Day

Saturday, March 13, 2010
8:00 a.m. at the frontage road location.
  Take I-15 north. Exit at Hwy 93.  Turn left at the bottom of the exit ramp.  Drive under I-15 then take a right turn onto the frontage road. Drive about 5 miles north. Look for the orange ribbons that will mark the spot where you will make a left turn.  Follow the "road" to the training area.

Rattlesnake Avoidance Class 

For those of you who expressed an interest in teaching your dog rattlesnake avoidance here is your opportunity.  A rattlesnake avoidance class will be held in Kingman, AZ on Saturday, April 24, 2010 and possibly on Sunday, April 25, 2010 depending upon interest. Contact the Kingman Animal Hospital at 928-757-4011 to sign up and receive more information. 

Thanks to everyone who participated at the February Training Day. Once again Brian did a great job setting up the test scenarios with lots of help from: Don, Pete, Bill, Dan, Bob and Larry. February was a full month for our members. Many of you ran your dogs at the Copper State Hunting Retriever Club 2010 Hunt Test, the Phoenix Retriever Club Spring Field Trial and our very own LVHRC 2010 Spring HRC Hunt Test. See the Brag Sheet below to see who brought ribbons home.

Elroy Olson was the lucky winner of the Browning Citori 625 Field Shotgun. Elroy is the President of the Lower Columbia HRC. He traveled to Las Vegas to offer his support and went home with a ribbon and a new shotgun.

Let’s give a big round of applause to all of our members who contributed their time and talent to make our first annual HRC Hunt Test a success. The Las Vegas Club hosted handles from Washington, Oregon, Montana, Florida, Arizona, California, Nevada and our neighbor to the north, Ontario.

Members’ News

The Dabbs’ would like to present the newest addition to their family, Chief. Here he is with “mom” at the Hunt Test. “Dad” was busy running Flame on Saturday and earning his HRC Started Apprentice Judge’s Title on Sunday.

Congratulations to Kevin Rice who earned his Started Judge’s Title on Saturday and to Brian Dunlevy who earned his Finished Judge’s Title on Saturday.
